...we are moving! That's right! After 4 trips to Greeley to search for a place to rent, we finally know where we are moving!
And we just have to share with you how our great God brought it all together! The first day we went up to look, we were growing weary and decided to take a walk around Glenmere Park (in Greeley). As we walked, we happened to look across the street at a house that had a "For Rent" sign on the door. Brett talked to the owner. She was in the process of fixing a lot of things on the house, and it looked like it wouldn't be ready for our timeframe. It was also $900 a month plus utilities (we were looking for something under $800). We came home that day pretty discouraged and needless to say, we were curious what God was up to. The next morning, we decided to post an ad about ourselves and the type of housing we were looking for on craigslist. Within hours, a couple that had trouble selling and renting their house contacted us. After talking with them and seeing the house, it seemed like the perfect fit. The guy they had lined up to rent-to-own their home couldn't find a job so he couldn't rent it yet, and they were willing to let us rent for $750 a month ($200 less than what they would get from him). However, when we called them back a few days later to finalize everything, they had let us know that the gentlman had found a job and that they now were going to rent to him. We were glad for them, but disappointed for us. Again, we couldn't help but ask God what he was up to! On our second to last trip, we looked at a condo that was for rent. It was $725 a month with the utilities included. We would just need to find a storage unit for the rest of our things. We filled out the application this past Thursday, quickly got a call back that we were approved, but then we were told to send in a check for the deposit & 1st month's rent before seeing the lease (the owner was gone through the weekend). We were also told that there was no promise that we wouldn't get our money back. We were obviously not OK with this, communicated our concerns, and reminded them that we could get a check in their hands after seeing and signing the lease as soon as the owner was back. We were told that was OK, but they had to keep showing the condo to other people in the meantime. We decided to take one last trip on Saturday. We had an appointment at the house at Glenmere Park. When we took a look around, we weren't too enthusiastic because the rooms were pretty small, even though it had more square feet than the condo. When the owner asked us if we'd like an application, we took one, but were honest and told her not to wait on us since we had found a place within our budget that we just couldn't pass up. She said she could do $795 a month. Again, we told her we'd think about it, but not to wait on us. After we returned to Denver, she called Brett again offering $725 a month with water included. That meant we were only left to pay for the electricity and gas. It also has an oversized two car garage, eliminating the need for a storage unit. Oh yeah, and she said she'd do a month-to-month lease with us, freeing us up to search for a home to buy whenever that time might come. We decided to go for it! We get the keys and sign the lease this Thursday! It's unbelievable how this all happened...but we now see how it all had to happen just the way it did so it would turn out just the way it did...just the way God intended.

That was quite an ordeal finding a place in Greeley. Maybe your faith was being tested.
