Despite a winter storm and a delayed plane, Brett made it safely to San Diego tonight. He just called to let me know that he bought the car and that the transaction was a good experience. Oh, and that he really likes it, and it had less miles on it than he thought. ;) Thank you for your prayers. We are so grateful and it is our hope that this car will be a blessing to our family for many years. Pictures to come...

For a while now (even before the Escort went ka-put), Brett has had a certain car in mind that he would like to get when the time came. Well the time has come. Brett found a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 in our price range, with low miles, and in great shape (according to some friends who were kind enough to check it out for us). Oh, and did I mention Brett found the car on Craigslist...in San Diego! Brett leaves Denver Wednesday afternoon for sunny California and will start the 1,000 mile trip back to Denver soon after he arrives there! Please keep him in your prayers...for safe travel and a smooth transaction.
We headed up to Estes Park yesterday for Rocky Mountain Getaway (RMGA), a fall retreat/conference we hold for Colorado college students. It has felt pretty different this year (now that I'm a mama), and am a bit distracted by Lukas, but it is still encouraging to witness students connecting with the Lord. Please pray for the rest of our weekend here, and especially for God's protection against sickness for our family.
