The first week of classes for the 2013 – 2014 school year begins tomorrow. Cru has a few more social events to kick off this fall semester, which include ultimate frisbee and a tie dye party. We also have our first weekly gathering in the University Center on Thursday night at 8 pm. Please pray that these events (as well as the ones that have already occurred the past few days) would be helpful in taking steps to build genuine community and relationships with students, and pray for lots of opportunities to share the gospel. Thanks everyone!

Today was the Student Involvement Fair on campus. Cru had root beer floats in exchange for a quick survey. Even though the Hullah boys did not fill out a survey, they got to enjoy a sweet treat on campus. :) Today freshmen were all over campus, moving in, getting textbooks, and eating in the dining halls. Today and tomorrow, our ministry spends several hours pursuing these freshmen with the hope they will fill out a short survey called a "Gotta Minute." Today, over 500 people filled out the survey! I was reminded today that it was 14 years ago when I (Darci) took a similar survey (my motivation was to get a coupon for pizza upon completing the survey), and I first heard about Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ then). A few days later, I attended the weekly meeting at Missouri State and heard the gospel and I became a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I am so excited to see what God has in store for this group of freshmen at the University of Northern Colorado! Today is the day! Freshmen have started to move into the dorms on the University of Northern Colorado campus! Cru (including Brett) was able to help several students with this process today. Cru will be having lots of events this weekend and following week, including our first weekly meeting on Thursday the 29th. We would appreciate prayer for these students and these events (I will try to post a schedule soon). Thank you all so much! |
