Levi had his 4th birthday on October 13! We celebrated with a motorcycle themed party with friends from church. He is still our snuggle bug (we are pretty certain his primary love language is "Touch." He enjoys being read to and likes to be by his brother's side. He is adventurous and easy-going. We thank God for him, and are thankful God has entrusted us to be his parents!

Next month, Levi will turn 4 years old! He has been ready and very willing to start preschool at home with Mom. A friend from church had introduced me to a preschool curriculum website called ABCJesusLovesMe. I use some of their activities and book suggestions with Luke and plan to do the same with Levi. We started a couple weeks ago. The biggest change for Luke as he enters 1st grade is the fact that he will be at school for a full day and not 1/2 a day, like in Kindergarten. So far he is doing well! He was looking forward to seeing his friends from last year, and still gets to see some of his best buds from last year during recess, even though they are now in different classrooms. I can tell he likes his teacher too! I (Darci) will get to volunteer in his classroom again, and I've enjoyed getting to know his teacher as well. - Please pray that Luke would be a light to others. - Please pray for the Lord's protection over him. - Pray that he would be obedient and focused, and that he would respond to directions the first time they are given. - Praise God that Luke has made some great friends and that he is a kind friend too. It's an honor to be married to Brett and a blessing that he is such a great dad to Luke and Levi. I hope all of you dads were celebrated well this Father's Day. You are so valuable to your wives, children, and grandchildren! Thank you Lord for Dads! Today Luke attended the last day of his Kindergarten year. Thank you for your prayers for him throughout this year! He learned so much: to write (now he's writing a paragraph a day), to read, about the continents and oceans (did you know there are now 5 oceans?!?), to count to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's, and so much more. He learned a lot about expectations and rules at school, and he became friends with many classmates and other Kindergarteners he met at recess. He definitely had some seasons where he struggled to focus in class and would have to come home with school work along with his homework, but he finished strong in the end. Today he said he would miss school. He is looking forward to seeing some friends soon for his birthday and summer play dates though. We are proud of him. :) The boys are doing well. Luke is wrapping up Kindergarten and his last day is May 19th! He will also be turning 6 next month and starting t-ball. He is on a team with some of his friends from church and some friends from school too. He loves when these 2 "worlds" collide and he gets to introduce his friends to one another. Levi continues to grow, is our snuggle bug, and enjoys being a part of whatever his big brother is doing. He enjoys pretending to be a lion, or a T-Rex, or really anything that roars. I (Darci) hope to start preschool activities and teaching him this fall. He's ready, and says he wants to go to school with Luke now. I'm not ready though. ;)
Blessings to you for 2015 and beyond! This is a short video of some of my favorite Instagram pictures from the year, as well as one of my favorite songs from 2014. May we strive to "fix our eyes" on God and where He is working, even in the mundane. Our church takes communion almost weekly, and several months ago, Luke started communicating his desire to take it with us. After many conversations with him, we encouraged him to talk to our Pastor. He then got to be a part of a communicants' class that he finished in October. During this time Brett and I were encouraged to think about baptism for Luke. Not only because of our church's traditions, but also because if Luke could understand communion, he could understand baptism too. Brett and I had a lot of discussions, and we often brought up the idea if having Luke wait until he was older. However, whenever we talked to Luke, he continued to communicate his desire to be baptized and take communion because of his love for Jesus and his trust in Him. We didn't want to do anything to squelch his childlike faith when Jesus is the One calling Luke to himself. On November 2nd, Luke was baptized! It was a beautiful and meaningful experience, and a hopeful and proud moment for us as his parents, and we look forward to continuing these conversations with Luke as he pursues his own faith!
In light of the fact that school picture packages can be a bit pricey, Brett encouraged me to take pictures of Luke on my own. Here is the result.
